My Matched Betting Earnings – How I Made £401.76 In Month One

A good few months ago now, I was browsing around online and I stumbled upon someone talking about how they made a good chunk of income each and every month month by doing something known as ‘matched betting’ – basically, taking advantage of free offers from online bookmakers to lock in guaranteed, risk-free profits.

Initially, I was sceptical AF. Signing up with bookies? Placing bets? Guaranteed profits? It all sounded just too good to be true, and also maybe even a little bit dodgy.

My interest was piqued though, and not being one to pass up the opportunity to add an extra earning string to my bow, I hit Google to do some research. A few hours later, I could see that it was a legit opportunity. I signed up for a free trial at Profit Accumulator, and I was off to the races – pun totally intended – with my matched betting earnings journey. In my first month, I pocketed £401.76 in profits.

It’s simple, it’s risk-free, and it’s also tax-free – and if you’re looking to earn some extra income, it’s definitely something that’s worth considering.

So how exactly does matched betting work?

Online bookies are always looking for ways to attract more punters to sign up with them and use their services, and one way in which they do this is by offering free bets. By utilising these, we can bet on an outcome with a bookies, and then bet AGAINST that outcome with a betting exchange, and as long as we’ve done a few simple calculations, we can create a guaranteed and risk-free profit.

To qualify for a free bet, we need to first place what’s known as a qualifying bet. You place that bet, then you go over to the betting exchange and you ‘lay the bet’ – that means that you are betting against the opposite outcome, so whatever happens during that match, you’re covered. So an example would be that Newcastle are playing Sunderland. At the bookies, you’d bet for Newcastle to win. At the exchange, you’d bet for Newcastle to NOT win – so that would include Sunderland winning, or the result being a draw.

With this qualifying bet, you’d make a small loss of up to 10% of your bet. So with a £20 bet, you’d be £2 down overall. This is all part of the process, because this qualifying bet is just the first part of a 2-step process. Because now, we’ve been credited with a £20 FREE bet by the bookies.

Now what we could do here, is just use that bet and hope that it wins. But it’s NOT what we do with matched betting, because remember that we’re looking for guaranteed profits here. We’re NOT gambling, at any stage, and we’ve got a strategy behind us.

So we go ahead and place our £20 free bet with the bookies, and we return to the betting exchange again to ‘lay the bet’ – so we’ve got every outcome covered. Once that bet has settled, and we take into account that initial qualifying loss that we made in order to get access to the free bet, we make around £16 in profit.

Profit Accumulator tells you exactly what to bet on to guarantee your profit, and it also tells you exactly how much to bet.

Is it easy to get the hang of?

If this is your first introduction to matched betting earnings, and if you’re anything like me, then it might seem pretty complicated. I’d rarely ever placed a bet before, I didn’t know anything about sports, and I was slightly worried that I just wouldn’t be able to make sense of it all.

Thankfully though, it very quickly clicks into place, and you realise that it really is very simple and straightforward.

I was really cautious during my first month of matched betting, so I was often going back into the instructions on Profit Accumulator. I was watching the tutorials, going through the step-by-step guides, and double checking everything I did.

By the end of the month, it was taking me less than 15 minutes to complete an offer – that includes signing up for a new bookies, finding a suitable match to bet on, doing the calculations, and then placing the bets. Assuming that each offer makes you that £16 (some are more, some are less), that’s a pretty generous hourly rate!

Now that I’ve found my feet with matched betting and built up my confidence, I’m looking forward to being able to place my bets more quickly to make best use of my time, and increase my earnings.

Where did my matched betting earnings come from?

During my first month, I was making my way through the sign-up offers over on Profit Accumulator. I got through around 27 of them, and at any given time, there’s around 70+ available – so there’s still plenty of earning potential there for me for at least another month or two.

Things aren’t over though once you’ve completed those. There are TONS of ‘reload offers’ available, which are offers that bookies make available for existing customers to encourage them to come back and use their services again. I dipped my toes into a couple of these in my first month, and they’re just as straightforward as the sign-up offers – you bet £20 to get a free £20 bet, for example, and ‘lay’ each of these bets at the exchange to lock in your profit.

Right now, there are 89 reload offers available on the Profit Accumulator site, and new ones are made available each and every day. Some people assume that matched betting earnings can’t be sustained for long, and even though I’m writing this close to the beginning of my journey, I can see that’s just not true. There are plenty of people who’ve earned a good sum of money each month, for several YEARS from this.

Next month, I’ll be continuing to make my way through the sign-up offers, and I’ll be diving further into the reload offers too. I’ll be keeping you updated with how my earnings shape up.

What if you make a mistake and lose your money?

Like we’ve covered, matched betting is risk-free, and your cash is not in danger. That’s not accounting for human error though. The guides are detailed and break everything down step-by-step, but there may be the odd occasion when you drop the ball.

In my first month, I made one mistake. I’d placed my qualifying bet with a particular bookies, and I was credited with my free bet. That bet expired within 7 days though, and I’d quite simply forgot all about it. Overall, I’d lost less than £2, so it wasn’t a big deal.

This does raise a very important point though… You need to be organised with this! I’ve now created a simple spreadsheet for myself that tells me exactly where my money is, what I need to do next, and when I need to do it by.

How much can you realistically make in matched betting earnings each month?

I was very happy with my first month of matched betting earnings, especially when you consider that I did this alongside my other online ventures, like freelance writing and eBay reselling. For the time I dedicated to it, it was very worthwhile. If you really want to go ‘all in’ with it though, you could potentially make a lot more. It’s all down to how much time you have.

As a general guide, Profit Accumulator gives the following estimates:

  • 15-30 minutes per day = £500 per month
  • 30-60 minutes per day = £1,000 per month
  • 1-2 hours per day = £2,000 per month

Using Profit Accumulator

Profit Accumulator gives you all the tools and knowledge you need to get started with matched betting today. I signed up for their free trial and completed the first two offers, and I was impressed that I immediately upgraded to platinum membership at £150 for the year. I could see that I’d make that money back very quickly, and I did.

If you’d rather pay monthly, it’s £17.99 per month, and there’s no minimum contract, so you can cancel whenever you like. As you can see from my matched betting earnings, it’s very possible to pay for a full year of membership with what you earn in the first month, and still take away a good chunk of profit.

It’s a worthy investment that will get you off to the best possible start, and it’ll give you all the training, guidance, and support you need.

My bonus tips for getting started with your matched betting earnings journey…

  • Open up a separate bank account solely for matched betting. This will make sure you can easily keep track of your matched betting earnings
  • Stay organised. I created my own simple Excel spreadsheet, but there are also ones available to download on Profit Accumulator
  • Have your identity documents to hand. Some of the bookies will ask you to provide photographs of things like a passport, driving licence, bank statement, or utility bill, and everything’s just easier if you’ve already got these things safely stored on your computer
  • Create a schedule, and stick to it. I found things much easier if I was able to check in every day – only if it was only for ten minutes. It helps you get into the swing of things and cuts down the learning curve. And of course, the more proactive you are, the more you’ll earn!

I’m excited about my progress so far, and I’m looking forward to continuing with matched betting. If you’ve got any questions? Just pop them in the comment box below.
